The world’s most sustainable sneaker brand, Veja, has collaborated with brutalist fashion designer Rick Owens to create a minimalist, technical sneaker made from banana oil, rice husk and recycled plastic bottles. Described as groundbreaking, revolutionary and experimental, Rick Owens approached Veja more than two years ago to bring the project to life.  “I have absolutely no authority to promote sustainability, but I do endorse the idea of thoughtful living and planning for the future with kindness in mind,” says Owens. “We all gotta start somewhere.”
